How are hemorrhoids diagnosed?
It is not so hard to diagnose hemorrhoids as in most cases a visual examination of your anus may be enough to diagnose hemorrhoids. However, your doctor may ask you to do some different examination to confirm the diagnosis, and check for any other abnormalities within the anus.
The main check related to this issue is called a digital rectal exam. During digital rectal exam, the doctor inserts a gloved and lubricated finger into your rectum, and he look for anything abnormal, if he find something wrong then he will ask for an additional test called a sigmoidoscopy which is using a small, fiber-optic camera (called a sigmoidoscope) to diagnose an internal hemorrhoid.
After doing all these test, your doctor can clearly diagnose any problem related to external or internal hemorrhoid.
